Stegoscarf

A spiney 3-D sculptural super scarf.

Two distinct looks, depending on how it is folded/worn=

Flat gives 3 dimensional plated spines, while folded gives a zigzag.

Written (line by line abbreviated) and Charted pattern.

Beginner: Basic Lace Stitches, 3 Needle BO (or Kitchener) K, P, YO, SSK, K2TOG, S2KP (central double decrease)

Quick and simple knit. With only 2 different row patterns to memorize you won’t need to be eyeballing the chart/directions constantly - just relax and knit away on this Jumbo scarf.

Worked in two pieces - bottom up, joined at the center with either grafting (Kitchener) or a 3 needle BO.

No blocking necessary.

Easily modified for length and nice worked in any size of yarn as well, just make sure you are getting nice tight stitches and remember - the smaller the gauge, the more yarn you will need.

Measurements

Sample measurements were 80”(203 cm) total length by 8”(20 cm) across at widest points and 4.5” (11.4 cm) at the thinnest ‘waist’ points.

Gauge

Gauge not critical but will affect size and yardage.
You want your stitches pretty tight with your selected yarn needle combo.
