Steinulv
Steinulv - the name of the pattern is dedicated to a wolf that I was fortunate to meet in Northern Norway many years ago.
I chosed Lopi from Iceland because the sweater is made for outdoor people.
It is knitted bottom-up with a circular yoke and you are free to knit a low neck or a turtle neck. There is one single row in the pattern that is knitted with 4 strands (colors) at a time but there are no long floats to carry in this specific round so it is not very difficult.
For those who like, a Latvian Braid can be added to the hem and/or cuffs and the pattern contains a link to a youtube tutorial for this in English.
Sizes: (S) M (L) XL
Measurements:
Round chest: (95) 102 (109) 116 cm
Sleeves: (45) 46 (47) 48 cm
These are approx. measures. The final measurements depend on how you block and wash/treat the finished garment.
Amount of yarn (approx.):
main color: (450g) 450g (550g) 600g
pattern color 1: (100g) 150g for the other sizes
pattern color 2 and 3: 50g (1 skein) of each color
The colors for the pink version are:
pink 1412, white 0051, grey 0056 and a special color made for Strickstudio Knoller in Germany called “rosenholz 9428”. You can use royal fuchsia 1705 or violett 1414 instead
You can find all informations for this sweater, knitted with Plötulopi in my project “felifrei’s Steinulv with Plötulopi” (go to projects above)
Alternative yarns: Drops Nepal, Vidde (Lammeullgarn) or Varde (Pelsullgarn) from Hillesvåg Norway
Don’t forget to recalculate the amount of yarn needed, when choosing other yarn than Léttlopi. You can use any yarn as long as it matches the gauge.
Thank you for your interest in my pattern, I hope you enjoy knitting it. Don’t hesitate to open up a procject and show your work - it will be much appreciated.
