The pattern uses a dk weight merino along with a novelty pom pom yarn (essentially a thread with tiny acrylic pom poms spaced evenly on the thread) Other novelty yarns may be substituted or you may choose just to knit this hat with a single dk or worsted weight yarn on its own. Adding a fur pom pom at the top of the hat adds a very cute look to this sweet cloche.
