Evoke the style of the 1920’s with this felted cloche hat. Knit in the round, this piece uses short row shaping to form an asymmetrical brim. A clever variation of a double knit technique produces the contrasting welted band.

1940’s style version!
Now a modified version of this can be made for a more 1940’s style silhouette. After the ‘Welted Band’ section and right before the start of the ‘Crown section’ work as: Continue in St st until section is 3.25 inches.

To wear, place the start of the short row section of brim to fall over one eye, tilted slightly on head.
