Introducing the Stella Maris Coaster pattern, a quick and easy crochet project inspired by the majestic beauty of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The name “Stella Maris,” meaning “Star of the Sea,” reflects the serene elegance of this lacy coaster, designed with simple stitches that come together to form an intricate, airy texture. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crocheter, this pattern is perfect for crafting a delicate yet engaging piece that adds a touch of grace to any table. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate both beauty and faith, and a lovely project you can complete in no time!

This pattern is made in DK weight yarn with a 4.5mm hook. I think a synthetic or plant fiber is best for a coaster, as you will want it to be easy care. This coaster is worked in the round featuring single and double crochet stitch. Work increases every round incorporating lacy elements, ending with a dainty, picot edging. Gauge is not crucial in such a small piece.

This pattern is written for one size which should be a perfect fit for most mugs. If you find that it is too small/too large for your mug, I encourage you to experiment with another gauge or the number of rounds.

This is a beginner friendly pattern, it uses basic stitches and includes a photo tutorial at the end of the written instructions. There are also links to video tutorials for all the special techniques.
