Stella Stole
Stella is a textured, lacey stole, which can also be used as a scarf. Stella looks rather as if it was created via freeform knitting, but the pattern is systematic and surprisingly easy to follow. And although each star motif is knit individually, the scarf builds up by casting on new stitches and picking up existing stitches, so that there is no sewing together to do at the end: the individual stars ultimately form one complete piece.
Materials: Any weight yarn; a set of double pointed knitting needles. This is a great pattern for using up remnants of yarn, though all yarns used should be the same weight and knit to the same tension.
The stole/scarf pictured was knit with 200g of Violet Green LCA, and 4mm knitting needles.
