Stellissima
This shawl grew out of my previous Hodmedod shawl. It takes the same Estonian 3-gathered stitch and uses it with one skein of laceweight yarn in a crescent shape. The resulting stars in the shawl are a fabulous feature to show off any tonal or lightly variegated yarn. My testers had fun and added nupps and beads too!
The shawl is knitted from the centre top down and starts from a garter tab. The lace stitches are all on the right side rows and the wrong sides are purled. Both charted and written instructions are included in this pattern.
I blocked my shawl to approximately 47cm deep, with a span of 180cm, however the final size will vary according to your own choice of yarn and needle, as well as your knitting tension.
Requirements
3.5mm US4 - 4mm US6 needles – I used 3.5mm, but if you are a tight knitter, you might prefer larger needles.
100g 800m 874yd of 2ply laceweight yarn
Stitch markers, if you use them.
Wool needle to darn in ends
