This is the right handed version, the left handed version can be found HERE.

This Rose features independently poseable petals and the innovative design requires no sewing, rolling or stiffener. Start to finish takes hours… not days. All roses shown in the photos were made from the same pattern! You decide how much (or how little) shaping to do, three methods are detailed.

This comprehensive photo tutorial pattern (13 pages, 74 photos, 5.2MB) will show you how to make this graceful and realistic Rose. Instructions also include adding a stem wire. Text-only instructions are given for the sepals and leaf using the same techniques learned while making the rose. English language and US crochet terms only.

You will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader or PDF-XChange to view the files.

Also included is a condensed text-only excerpt of just the written instructions from the rose tutorial, 3 pages and no photos saves ink! The numbered steps correspond to the photos of the tutorial which you can view on your favorite device if you prefer not to print the full tutorial.

Materials:
DMC Cebelia crochet thread or other tightly wound thread & appropriately sized hook.

Recommended:
Size 10 - 1.75mm hook - 2.5+” diameter rose
Size 20 - 1.5mm hook - 1.75” - 2.25” diameter rose
Size 30 - 1.25mm hook - 1.5” - 1.75” diameter rose

The shank of the hook needs to be able to hold up to 11 loops for the rose. If your hooks don’t allow this, or you find it too crowded, consider getting a cro-tat hook (2mm to use with size 10 thread). PRYM is a brand that is inexpensive & widely available online. It’s unlikely to be an issue with size 20 thread & smaller.

Suggested Materials:
Yellow thread, glue, 18 gauge stem wire, floral tape, fine thread & rubber band.

Gauge:
Not essential. Tighter stitches make the rose easier to shape when using size 10 thread. The finer the thread you use, the looser you can make the stitches.

You need the following skills:
magic ring
chain
slip stitch
single crochet
picot (for leaf)
controlling tension
accuracy & attention to detail
patience

This rose uses a Tunisian Crochet stitch which is fully explained step by step and no prior experience with Tunisian Crochet is needed. This tutorial is appropriate for the motivated intermediate to experienced crocheter.

Baby’s Breath is not included in this tutorial.
