Like the Dragon Lore scarf, the STEM scarf uses purlinsbeard’s unique new double-knitting technique which allows you to EASILY be able to knit the two different designs simultaneously, something that would be agonizingly difficult using traditional double-knit techniques.

If you have never double-knitted before, I recommend doing a practice swatch before you start, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really not hard. If you can knit and purl, you can double knit! And this pattern will make all your friends think you’re some kind of knitting genius.
