Rowan’s Lima yarn is light and squishy and creates a very warm hat.
You will require 3 balls as the hat takes a little more than 2 balls, and enough yarn to knit your swatch.

I have tried several different cast on techniques over the past 5 years and I have found that the crochet hook chain cast on is stretchy and offers great support to the edge of the cap. It adds thickness to the stitches which improves the loft of the fibre. Send me a note if you have a favourite cast on that I should know about. I’m always looking for the best techniques.
