Stepping It Up 1
“Stepping It Up 1” is the first pattern in a small series of sock patterns designed with increasing difficulty levels. All the socks in the series are knit from top down with a modified Afterthought heel technique that I like to refer to as a “no worries” heel, because I could not help but worry about dropping stitches using the conventional method.
Size: S (M, L) to fit foot circumference
8 (8 1/2, 9 1/2)”
The foot and leg length are adjustable

Materials
Yarn: Loopy Ewe Solid Series, (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 2oz/50g, 220yds per skein), in 2 colors
Actual yardage used for size M:
MC - 275 yards
CC - 10 yards

Needles: 2 circular needles US 1 (2.25mm), 16” or longer

Gauge: 32 sts and 42 rows = 4” (10cm)

Supplies: Yarn or tapestry needle, 2 strands of waste yarn, 8” long, in a contrasting color to MC for lifeline, 1 strand of waste yarn, 36” long for temporary knit stitches, contrasting to MC and other waste yarn, stitch marker
