Eating sticky rice dumpling is one of the most popular customs practiced by the Chinese community on the Dragon Boat Festival. The other popular activity is dragon boat racing. The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the suicide death of an ancient poet and minister named Qu Yuan (340 - 278BC).

This pattern is written in the US term in English.

• Crochet: hook size 3mm
• Worsted-weight yarn: khaki green colour (50g) for leaves, white colour (30g) for raw rice and string, light brown colour (30g) for cooked rice, beige colour (3g) for leaf veins
• Polyester stuffing

• Stitch marker
