Sticky the Honey Bear
Sticky just loves honey. You won’t see Sticky anywhere without it! A great, cute toy for young and old to enjoy.
Sticky is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Sticky is approx. 12cm tall (4 ¾ inches) and the Honey pot is 6cm.
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted, 50g TAN, 25g in ORANGE, MUSTARD and SALMON
- BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- A pair of 8mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- I’ve used the following yarns: o TAN = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 071 Sand o ORANGE = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 068 Papaya o MUSTARD = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 063 Saffron o SALMON = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 023 Nude
- I have used plastic safety eyes but you may choose to embroider the eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
