Stinging Nettle
Malabrigo Mecha caught my eye in my LYS while shopping a holiday sale. The jeweled tones screamed ‘take me home!’ and so I did. I felt the bast way to show off these gorgeous colors was a slipped stitch pattern over linen stitch and so the search began. After playing around with various slipped stitch combinations I finally settled on what I now refer to as ‘Stinging Nettle’ - a simple, easily memorized repeat that seems to extend forever; as one cluster ends, the next one begins, and so the Stinging Nettle grows.
Stinging Nettle is a circular cowl knitted in the round featuring a specially designed slipped stitch pattern extending over a simple tri-color linen stitch worked in Bulky weight yarn.
The pattern is written for one size but may be adapted to any desired size/gauge.
