This pattern is designed for use with 2 skeins of our Yak Silk Lace Yarn in colorways: Heuchera and Restless (1 skein each). Choose any colors you like, though. You’ll need a US Size G hook (4.00 mm). Yarn is held quadruple throughout the project so if substituting another yarn and you don’t care to create the gradient look with the lace weight, get a worsted, heavy worsted or aran weight yarn.
A thick, cozy, gradient wrap in the shape of a stingray
•Using just 2 colors of lace weight yarn held quadruple, you can create this gorgeous gradient look.
•The unusual stingray shape allows you to wear this in a variety of ways: wrapped warmly like a cowl, dipped in the front like a bandana or as a shawlette.
•Simple and easy double crochets make for quick work and allow the color to be the main feature.
•Advanced beginner level. If you know double crochets and chaining, you should be good to go.
•Solid colors really show the gradient but variegates would be amazing in this. Don’t hesitate to choose any colorways that light up your heart!
•You can stop crocheting whenever the shawl is as big as you like. It’s a simple, repeating pattern.
•Worried about running out of yarn? No need! Just stop when you run out! Or add in a third color and continue to make it bigger and bigger, fading into different colors. If you’re wanting to keep the 2-tone gradient look but want the shawl to be larger, get 1 skein of your first color and 2 skeins of your second color (the second color uses more yarn since the rows are getting longer.)
You’ll receive a digital file only (instantly downloadable as a PDF) and won’t be shipped anything. Please allow a few minutes for the download link to be emailed to you.
