I came up with the idea for this stitch pattern for a large shawl that I published at the beginning of 2020, then I used it for my Stitch Music cowl, and now I am using the same stitch pattern for a shallow slightly asymmetrical scarf. I love the way the rows form curved columns, and when wet blocked the stitches make a very interesting mesh stitch pattern.

Stitch Symphony is crocheted in two sections with an easy-to-memorize four-row repeat for the first section and a two-row repeat for the second section. This is truly a scarf that you can work on while watching a movie, visiting with friends, while traveling, or if you just want a simple project for relaxation.

Stitch Symphony is not too frilly or too busy, and is a functional scarf that will quickly become your go-to scarf, and your go-to pattern for gifting to family and friends.

And, this scarf is a one skein heavy sport/DK weight scarf! I used one skein of Malabrigo Arroyo (335 yards/100 grams) in the color Sand Bank, which is a heavy sport weight yarn, and close to a DK weight. I recommend using one skein of Malabrigo Arroyo, or you can use one skein of heavy sport or DK weight yarn that is at least 100 grams and 335 yards.

For this scarf, wet blocking is needed to open up the stitch pattern, add length and width, and to allow the edges to lay flat. Easy wet blocking instructions are included.

This scarf pattern is beginner friendly! The stitch pattern is repetitive and uses a few basic simple crochet stitches. I’ve included written instructions as well as a stitch chart to help you get started. It is important to get gauge, or if you know you crochet loosely, go down one hook size.
