This simple cowl is part of a series of designs that feature stitch patterns from more complex Provenance Knits designs. The stitch pattern is featured in the Victoria Neckwarmer design.

The inspiration for the Stitch Taster – Victoria design was from stitch patterns prevalent in the Weldon’s Series, published in 19th-century Victorian England.

The lace edged “V” stitch pattern was featured in Weldon’s Practical Knitter, Fifteenth Series, on a petticoat for a young child.

Sample on left shown in Shelridge Yarns Soft Touch Ultra, Moss . The cowl can also be worn with the top folded inside for extra warmth, as shown in the detail images on the left.

Pattern was professionally tech edited by Robin Melanson.

NOTE: Provenance Knit patterns use charts.
