Note this pattern calls to cast on 78 stitches and knit in the round in a k2, p2 ribbing, however 78 is not divisible by 4, and therefore the k2, p2 will not line up. I suggest either casting on 76, or 80 stitches to make up the difference so that your ribbing will be ribbing and not checkerboard.
