This is my own version of the very popular stocking hat style used by many photographers in their newborn photography setups

There are patterns provided here - One is a wide style hat that folds over and lays flat the other is a skinny style stocking hat great for draping along contours of babies.

Easy to follow basic knitting.

Newborn Size

Knitted flat on straight 6mm needles - I use Knit Pro Cubics

You will need 1 ball of Big Crocodile Snuggle Soft yarn - available from www.bigcrocodile.co.uk (2 for a striped hat) or 2 balls of Supersoft Merino DK yarn (doubled up i.e. knitted with 2 strands) like Rico Essentials or Sublime
