Stoke ticks all the boxes - an easy to wear, stylish hat which is so quick and simple to knit that you’ll always want one on the needles. Why not go ahead and make one for every member of the family? With sizes ranging all the way from baby to large adult, there’s no reason why you can’t!

You’ll cast on at the brim and work the ribbing first. Once that is long enough to be folded over for extra warmth, you’ll start working through your colour gradient in the stranded colourwork section. This is the ideal pattern for you if you’re new to colourwork because the pattern is super easy to remember and all the floats are the same (short!) length. Once that’s done, all that’s left is to decrease for the crown and attach the biggest pompom you can find.

Please note: While the larger sizes are designed to be worn slouchy as per the photographed sample, the baby and toddler sizes are written to fit closer to the head.
