Stoneleaves is a Möbius (also written Moebius) cowl done in the round. It is long enough to wrap around the neck twice. Instructions as given require one single skein of yarn, but the pattern is easily extended if you wish to make a wider cowl.

This is a very simple eyelet pattern, with the only non-trivial step being the cast-on method used. There are a few cast-on methods one can use for circular knitting a Möbius cowl §. They are all quite easy to do, except of course if you haven’t done it before. If you haven’t, this simple pattern offers a good opportunity to learn a new and fun technique.

I’m providing the pattern for free, but I’d really appreciate that you include your project with photos on Ravelry, if you use it.

§ These are described, for example, in June Hemmons Hiatt’s book “The Principles of Knitting” (page 369 of the 2012 edition). Video instructions for one of these methods can be found here.
