This serene lady has a secret.

She is approximately 30cm (12”) tall and she has a secret compartment to store precious items. She can be fitted out as a jewelry box with places to keep your rings, bracelets, necklaces, or anything else you want to keep safe.

The doll shown in the photos is wearing a very simple sari. You could make yours far more elaborate by adding beads, embroidery or gold threads. The sari could be knitted in a fancy stitch, or with a coloured border, depending on your experience. Her long dark hair is fastened into a heavy plait.

The pdf file includes detailed illustrated instructions for knitting the doll and making the doll form and internal fittings. The form is extremely quick and easy to make, using readily available materials which cost almost nothing. The original doll was knitted in DK (Double Knitting) but includes instructions for using different yarns.
