All of us in the Midwest know when a good storm is coming! We can see the clouds forming, feel the change in the air and smell the rain on its way. They can come up unexpectedly and have us dashing for cover or be seen slowly building in an afternoon sky. At night we see the flashes of lightning and hear the thunder rumble. As a child my mom would bring my brothers and me downstairs, open the picture window and let us watch the storm. We would count the seconds between the thunder and the lightning to see if it was approaching or getting further away. To this day I love a good thunderstorm (as long as no one is hurt of course)!
