300 (500) g of fingering or dk weight yarn.
The sample is written for the Yarnaceous yarn advent which includes 10 (20) mini skeins and one full 100g skein.

• The dk mini skeins are 49 yds (45 m) per 20g; the full skein is 246 yds (225 m) per 100g. The sample used the Bronto DK base (75% superwash merino, 25% nylon).
• The fingering weight mini skeins are 87 yds (80 m) per 20g; the full skein is 437 yds (400 m) per 100g. The pattern is written for Yarnaceous’ Salta Fingering Weight base (85% superwash merino, 15% nylon).

Finished Cowl Measurements
Short Version: 27” (67.5 cm) in circumference, 6.5” (16 cm) wide excluding fringe
Long Version: 54” (135 cm) in circumference, 6.5” (16 cm) wide excluding fringe

Yarn Substitution
This pattern is a fantastic stash buster! Each stripe uses slightly less than the full 20g mini skein, so you can use minis, leftovers from previous projects, etc. The short cowl uses 10 colors, the long cowl uses 20. The border requires 50 (100) g for the border.
