Stormsailor beanie pattern got its inspiration from a classic fisherman beanie. I wanted to design a simple beanie pattern, that will suit in every outfit! This beanie is worked with fingering weight yarn, so you can wear the beanie in spring and autumn seasons and more warmer winter weather. The beanie is designed to cover the top of your ear, but you can of course make it longer or shorter.

In my first sample I used Finnish yarn store Nurja’s own merino sock yarn, in a calcite colorway. I really liked the more neutral colorway, but still felt the need for more colorful version. So in the second sample I used Novita’s soft merino 4ply yarn in the colorway moss. And this is a perfect warm muted green color. Because this is so timeless beanie pattern, I dream to have this beanie in more different colors!

Stormsailor beanie is worked top down using fingering weight yarn. Started from the crown by using Circular cast-on method and working the crown increases.

After increases you’ll only work 2 x 2 ribbing and a single knit stitch every now and then. This adds a nice little detail to the beanie.

The brim is worked with the same 2 x 2 ribbing, and you’ll bind of using Stretchy bind-off method, so that the bind of edge is not too tight. The brim is folded three times to emphasize the classic folded brim look.

Stormsailor-pipo on saanut inspiraationsa klassisesta kalastajapiposta. Halusin suunnitella yksinkertaisen pipo-ohjeen, joka sopii ihan jokaiseen asuun! Pipo on neulottu fingering-vahvuisesta langasta, joten voit käyttää pipoa kevät- ja syyskeleissä sekä lauhempina talvipäivinä. Pipo on suunniteltu hieman korvia peittäväksi, mutta voit toki neuloa sen pidempänä tai lyhyempänä.

Ensimmäisessä versiossani käytin lankakauppa Nurjan omaa merino sock -lankaa värissä kalkiitti. Tykkäsin tosi paljon neutraalista väristä, mutta jotenkin kaipasin myös enemmän värikkäämpää pipoa. Joten toisessa versiossa käytin Novitan soft merino 4ply -lankaa värissä sammal. Ja tämä on kyllä ihan täydellinen lämpimän vihreän sävy. Ja koska tämä pipomalli on niin ajaton, mulla on haaveissa neuloa tämä pipo useammassakin eri värissä!

Stormsailor-pipo on neulottu ylhäältä alas fingering-vahvuisesta langasta. Pipo aloitetaan Circular Cast-On -tekniikkaa käyttäen, ja pipoon tehdään tarvittavat lisäykset.

Lisäysten jälkeen työssä neulotaan 2 x 2 joustinta sekä satunnaisia oikeita silmukoita. Nämä lisäävät mukavan pienen yksityiskohdan pipoon.

Reunus on neulottu käyttäen samaa
2 x 2 joustinneulosta, ja päättely tehdään joustavasti, jottei reunasta tule liian kireää. Reunus taitetaan kolminkertaiseksi korostamaan klassisen kalastajapipon tyyliä.
