Stormy Seas
20% LAUNCH DISCOUNT APPLIES UNTIL MIDNIGHT APRIL 14TH 2019
For this shawl the inspiration came from a photograph of a raging stormy sea some time ago. The image kept coming back to me in my head often and I finally decided to use it for a design. I searched for the perfect yarn and finally found it during a visit to Germany at Andrea’s Glücksmasche, a yarn shop where my sister works.
The Yarn is Poema Filati d’Artista by Laines du Nord, a 100% Extra Fine Merino Wool, super soft and available in many wonderful faded coloured yarn cakes.
This large triangular shawl is knitted on the bias, incorporating various stitches. From simple garter stitch, a little eyelet lace and some one-colour brioche, the crowning glory is the beautiful droplet pattern. All is finished with a simple i-cord cast off.
The perfect accessory to keep a chill off as we move through the seasons.
