Stormy Swells
INFO
The silvery, lustrous hue of Swanky DK from Magpie Fibers and daily walks along the shore inspired this asymmetrical triangular shawl, ‘Stormy Swells.’ One can imagine standing safely on the garter-stitch shore while looking out at the ceaseless swells of a wind-whipped ocean, as suggested by the swath of cables that create a fascinating interplay of undulating lines.
In addition to the unusual cabling, a special feature of this design is its near reversibility, such that the two sides differ in only one detail. In making your own version, you too can enjoy creating a complex texture by the simple means of reordering a few stitches at a time, for a spectacular result.
The pattern has fully written instructions from cast on to bind off with stitch counts and there is also a chart for the repeats.
