Storsand top
The Storsand top is knitted seamlessly from the top down with wavy lace patterns. The back and front are knitted flat down to the armholes. Then the pieces are joined and the body is knitted in the round. Lastly, stitches for the neckband and the sleeve edgings are picked up and worked in the round. All techniques are explained in the pattern. The lace patterns are charted only.
The Storsand top can be worn either as a sleeveless summer top or a vest. For a summer version I would recommend a cotton, viscose or linen blend. For a warmer, wintery version choose yarn with high wool content.
Storsand means “the big sand”. The Storsand top was named after a beach in my childhood hometown. The two-color lace stripes of the top remind me of the patterns waves make when they hit the sandy beaches.
