The Straight and Narrow Cowl is a single pattern that I designed as a way to use up multiple skeins of beautiful hand-dyed yarn without have to mix skeins. This quick project has you hold six strands of fingering weight together, creating a super bulky yarn that is knit with large needles. This pattern incorporates a provisional cast-on that will NOT be removed, garter stitch, dropping and unraveling stitches, and picking up stitches in stockinette.

Yarn requirements are 1200 yards of fingering weight yarn, which will be held 6 strands at a time. You will also need 3 large (1.5” or bigger) buttons.

Gauge is 3 stitches to the inch in garter stitch worked flat on a US 11 (8.0mm).

“Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life…” Matthew 7:14
