The Straits Beanie is a robust and roomy worsted weight beanie, sized for the whole family, that is inspired by the Mackinac Bridge and the Straits of Mackinac. It is knit bottom up and features a deep folded brim for extra warmth along with crown shaping up the sides of the hat that represent the two towers of the bridge. The top of the hat is grafted together using kitchener stitch for a seamless finish.

NOTIONS: 16” circular needles in both sizes, DPN or magic loop in larger needle size, stitch markers, needle for grafting and weaving in ends.

YARN: Magpie Fibers Nest Worsted in Twilight Magpie (100g/210 yrds)

Any plump, round worsted weight yarn would work great.
