This is a Fair Isle hat that teaches a knitter how to work within their own gauge and establish a pattern that fits beautifully. I’ve included all the necessary math so that this can be easily achieved. In addition to a written pattern, colored charts are also provided. For the sample hat, I used 5 total hanks of Weepaca yarn by BigBad Wool. Any light worsted weight yarn is suitable but I enjoy the softness of the Weepaca. You will need a total of 5 hanks for an adult size hat (2 for the base and 1 of each contrast color). A small child or baby hat will only require 4 hanks (1 for the base and 1 of each contrast color). There is easily enough contrast color to do 2 to 3 hats.
