This is a hat I made for myself. I have a large head, and so someone with a smaller head will need to make adjustments in the yarn weight, gauge, and/or number of pattern repeats to make a hat that fits. The hat is knitted on needles that are “too small” for the weight of the yarn; this makes it quite tight to knit and results in a thick, heavy, warm hat. It is also a tall hat, and fits down over the ears like a cloche.

I used three skeins of bulky weight yarn in three related colors. The pattern has a possible modification for two colors only.
