The seventh sock pattern in our Sock of the Month “Space Series”!
This dramatic toe-up knee sock sports beautiful cables and traditional ribbing along with calf shaping on the back to give you the perfect fit. Knee socks are the perfect accessory for when the cool winds start to blow, but you still want to wear your favorite skirt!
Foot Size: Small 7 ½” circum. (Medium 8” circum., Large 8 ¾” circum).
Calf Size: 12” to 13” circum. (13” to 14” circum., 14” to 15” circum., and 15” to 16” circum.).
Gauge: 34sts/4” (32st/4”, 30sts/4”) in Stockinette Stitch
Needles: (2) Circular needles or needles to obtain gauge for foot of sock and for calf. See below for recommended sizes:
Needles for Foot
Small - US 1 (2.25 mm)
Medium - US 1½ (2.50 mm)
Large - US 2 (2.75 mm)
Needles for Leg
13” Calf - US 1 (2.25 mm)
14” Calf - US 1½ (2.50 mm)
15” Calf - US 1½ (2.50 mm)
16” Calf - US 2 (2.75 mm)
Hooks: US C (3.00mm) for casting on
Materials: Frabjous Fibers’ Cheshire Cat (100% Superwash Merino Wool: 512yds/114g)
Yardage: Approximately 510 (540, 580) yards (1-2 skeins)
Skill Level: Intermediate
Errata: If you purchased this pattern before November 13, 2015 there is errata. The mm sizes on the pattern are incorrect. Use the recommended US needle size.
