This stitch pattern uses plain old single crochet to create a double-thick fabric that is perfect for potholders. As a bonus, thanks to its generous size, not only is it a one-skein project for most worsted yarns, but you can also use it for putting large pots onto while they are still hot.

The instructions in this pattern are accompanied by photos as this is the kind of stitch pattern that is easier to show than tell.

Yarn used in the potholder shown Knitting Fever Painted Sky {100% superwash wool—color 226 Lime Twist—218 yards per 3.53 oz. (199 meters per 100g), and used all but the last 2 to 3 yards (1.8 to 2.7 meters), but any worsted weight yarn would work.
