Stratified cowl
This pattern is a fab skill builder, using simple stitches to create texture. Perfect for using up leftovers of DK yarn – try colourblocking the rib edgings or using scraps to make stripes.
Purchase the cowl instructions, receive mitt and headband instructions too.
Yarn: DK weight yarn, approximately 200 m per 100 g.
Cowl - 75 g

98% acrylic, 2% polyester; 230 m per 100 g; Colourway - 3569.
Hook: 4.0 mm / G-6 or size to achieve gauge.
3.5 mm / E-4 or one size smaller than gauge hook.
Notions: Tapestry needle.
Skills: Chain, double crochet, half treble, working into back loop, seaming, weaving in ends, blocking.
Gauge: 20 stitches and 16 rows over 10 cm / 4” in texture pattern after blocking. Gauge is not critical for this project, but different gauges will affect the finished size and yarn required.
Sizing: The cowl has a circumference of 62 cm / 24¾” and a depth of 15 cm / 6”. Suggested ease is 5-12.5 cm / 2-5” positive ease.
