Stratiform Coat
At first glance, the Stratiform Coat is a simple garter-stitch jacket. However, it also has sophisticated details such as the garter-rib edgings and the textured twisted-garter-stitch body. The button tab at the back waist adds an elegant touch. Choose matching buttons that blend with your yarn, or try wild, colorful buttons to make a bold statement.

NOTES
-
The body of this coat is worked back and forth in one piece from the lower edge to the underarm. The sleeves are worked separately back and forth, then the sleeves and body are joined to work the yoke.
-
A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.
-
When working the shaping in Twisted Garter Stitch on the body and sleeves, check the stitch pattern after slipping each marker to ensure the twisted stitches stay aligned vertically on wrong-side rows; misalignment will create irregular ditches on the right side of the piece.
