This large, squishy wrap is inspired by a photo of the sun in the clouds that my dad took above my childhood home.  The light shone on the clouds in such a way that each curving shape was emphasized and the sinuous energy of the cloud was in stark relief.  I wanted to capture the clouds’ luminosity and meandering shape with yarn.  The way color shows up differently on each side of a brioche-knitted piece reflects the movement from dark to light as the sun rises, or rays of sun emerging from behind a cloud after a storm. This shawl is large and squishy, providing maximum warmth whenever you need it most.

Finished Size: approx. 16” wide x 80” long

This pattern draws on techniques and designs (especially Optic Waves) from Knitting Fresh Brioche by Nancy Marchant.
