Strawberry Bay Shawl
Strawberry Bay was designed as an ode to this stunning yarn duo designed by Candy Shoppe Yarns. I fell in love with the glorious combination of the nubby boucle and the airy, fuzzy mohair and wanted to make something perfect to show them both off. The name comes from a lovely little fishing and boating spot near Strawberry Reservoir.
While I do personally love the combination of these two yarns, you can use any fingering weight yarn for the main color and any laceweight mohair or suri yarn for the contrast. The instructions are both charted and written so grab your needles and dive in!
Measurements - 82 inches/208 cms wide, 21 inches/53 cm deep.
Yarn: MC - Candy Shoppe Yarns Truffle in the colorway Dreamhouse. 100 grams with 438 yards. CC - Candy Shoppe Cotton Candy Mohair in colorway Caboodle. 50 grams with 459 yards. 1 skein of each. Alternately you can use 100 grams of any fingering weight yarn for MC and 50 grams laceweight mohair or suri for the CC.
Needles: US size 5/3.75 mm circular needles with 40 inch/100 cm cable.
Notions: 2 ring stitch markers, yarn needle for weaving in ends, blocking wires/pins and mat.
Gauge: One blocked lace section should be 3 in/ 7.5 cm in depth. Gauge is not crucial for this project but differences in gauge will affect finished measurements and may also change yarn requirements.
