Strawberry Hill Shawlette
The Strawberry Hill Shawlette is an asymmetrical triangle knit on the bias. It utilizes German Short Rows to achieve its blocked effect. I knit it in about 800 yards (400 yards in 2 coordinating/contrasting shades) in fingering weight yarn, but this pattern would also work up nicely in anything from fingering weight through worsted. Mine knit up to be just shy of 6 feet in length, and 22 inches at its center, deepest point. The color block areas are knit in stockinette, and the stripes are in garter to give more textural definition to the shawlette. The lighter shade in the shawlette is knit using a hand painted variegated yarn to add further interest to the piece. The pattern includes step by step detailed written instructions, row counts, and a few video help links as well.
