Toe Up AND Cuff Down instructions included. Your download includes 2 PDFs, so you can print the instructions you want.

These sweet little socks are the perfect introduction to stranded colourwork and come in two different constructions: toe up OR cuff down - so everyone’s happy!

A great scrappy project, or use a 3 skein sock set from your favourite indie dyer! Or if you’re anything like me, and have about a million mini skeins, you can mix and match for lots of happy pairs!

There are two PDFS included in your download - one for TOE UP socks and one for CUFF DOWN socks. Colourwork charts and schematic included.

DETAILS:
Skill Level: Intermediate
Skills required: Knitting in the round, basic short rows, basic colourwork (this would be a great first colourwork pattern!)

YARN REQUIREMENTS:

While I always list 1 skein of sock yarn as a generic requirement, with these shortie socks, you may find that you use anywhere from 20g to 50g of your main colour. I encourage you to make multiple pairs or mix and match your scraps or partially finished skeins.

Main Colour (MC): 1 skein, or 100g of sock yarn.
Sample used less than 40g/180 yards for size M.

Contrast Colour 1 (CC1): 1 mini skein, or 20g of contrast colour sock yarn.
Sample used approx 16g/70 yards of CC1.

Contrast Colour 2 (CC2): 1 mini skein, or 20g of contrast colour sock yarn.
Sample used approx 6g/28 yards of CC2.

Exact usage will vary based on length of leg/foot. In testing, all testers found 20g mini skeins to be sufficient for CC1 + CC2 for all sizes.

Sample uses: Polka Dot Creek Classic Sock Set in ‘Crushed Velvet.’ Many thanks to Shelley for providing yarn support for this project!

Like any of my patterns, you can use any sock yarn that fits your style and budget! Need help finding a suitable yarn? Check out my Tips and Tricks for yarn substitution!
