This hat works up very quickly and makes a great gift. It’s also one of my best sellers at craft shows. People just love the hats with braids! It makes a great finishing touch to a Halloween costume. It’s also a functional hat that will keep your child warm.

Pattern is written in US terms. It’s suitable for an advanced beginner. You should already know how to do the following crochet stitches:
slip stitch, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. You will also need to know how to single crochet 2 stitches together and double crochet 2 stitches together.

Materials needed are:
Size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
Size G (4.25 mm) crochet hook
yarn needle
worsted weight yarn in red, pink ,green, white, and yellow

Pattern comes with 3 different size options: Baby (12-24 months, 18-19 inch circumference), Toddler (2T-5T, 19-20 inch circumference), and Child (20-21 inch circumference).The hat features an appliqued strawberry blossom as well as an appliqued strawberry. Instructions are given for all aspects of the hat, including how to attach the “hair.”
