This pattern is designed to be knit at a flexible gauge to accommodate chunky to super bulky yarns and is sized for the whole family. A gauge somewhere in between those provided will give you an even wider range of finished sizes!

Sizes: Unisex hat x-small (small, medium, large, x-large) – approximately 13½ (16, 18½, 21, 23½)” circumference in super bulky yarn and 11½ (13¾, 16, 18¼, 20½)” circumference in chunky yarn. Sample hats shown in size medium in a super bulky (heavier) yarn and size large in a chunky (lighter) yarn.

Materials:
• 1 (1, 1, 2, 2) skeins of super bulky yarn with at least 85 yards/skein or 1 (1, 1, 2, 2) skeins of chunky yarn with at least 110 yards/skein. The samples are shown in Woolberry Fiber Co. Berry Chunky (80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon; 100g; 86 yds) Countdown to Christmas OAK Royal Blue (size medium in super bulky yarn) and Sunshine Yarns Radiance Collection (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g; 120 yds) Dried Lavender (size large in a chunky yarn).
• Circular needles in size US13 (9.0mm) for super bulky yarn or size US10.5 (7.5mm) for chunky yarn (or size required for gauge)
• Double point needles in size US13 (9.0mm) double point needles for super bulky yarn or size US10.5 (7.5mm) for chunky yarn (or size required for gauge)
• Stitch marker
• Tapestry needle

Gauge: 12 sts and 18 rows = 4” in Streambed Pattern for super bulky gauge or 14 sts and 20 rows = 4” in Streambed Pattern for chunky gauge. (Measurements are after blocking.) Note that anything in between will work, too, and give you sizes in between those given here.
