Like other patterns of ours that come with instructions for more than one gauge, our Streamline pattern is designed to offer you plenty of options and with beginner knitters in mind.

It’s knit flat from end to end, and grafted using Kitchener Stitch, which means there won’t be any visible seams.

We included instructions for four sizes and five yarn-weight specific versions for each size, so you can use whatever yarn weight you’re most comfortable with. As you’ll work your head band from end to end and can easily add a bit more length at any point, you don’t need to worry about the circumference too much before casting on though! In addition, the pattern comes with lots of helpful information, e.g. on choosing the right size and on gauge.

Depending on desired measurements, you’ll need up to 100g of a yarn with which you’ll be able to get one of the listed gauges. We recommend:

GAUGE
The gauge is indicated over 10 x 10 cm, worked flat in Double Knitting Stitch, on main needle, after blocking. As Double Knitting is a double-thickness fabric, twice the usual number of stitches are required. The number of stitches below are for one side of the fabric for ease of counting, however you will need twice the number of stitches given to check your gauge.

NEEDLES
Circular needle in main size to obtain gauge with a cable length of at least 80 cm / 32” (We recommend 3 mm / US 2.5 for Version A, 3.5 mm / US 4 for version B, 4 mm / US 6 for version C, 4.5 mm / US 7 for version D and 5.5 mm / US 9 for version E)
