A basic machine knit sock pattern, for a 10” long man’s sock. Length can be adjusted by adding or subtracting rows between heel and toe shaping. 100g fingering weight sock or other yarn should be sufficient for one pair.
I have written up this pattern for my own use, and hope others may also find it useful. After struggling with various ways of transferring the cuff ribbing from a flat piece to commence the circular part of the sock, I finally settled on Slisen’s method of grafting the cuff on, as well as her very helpful tutorial on grafting sts from the purl side, here.
The grafting (Kitchener stitch) of the cuff does take a bit of time, but is done away from the machine and is a lot more relaxing, IMO, than manipulating stitches between the two beds.
