Stress free stripes Blanket
This is really simple pattern which is perfect for beginners, but also for any Crocheter in search of a striking striped blanket pattern which is not too complicated or fussy. The rows are super easy and can be worked on while watching TV; there’s no need for counting or too much concentration, which is why I have named the pattern ‘Stress-free Stripes’.
The design consists of wide coloured stripes worked in the lovely texture of ‘Lemon Peel’ stitch, which are divided by narrower stripes in a neutral colour which are worked in ‘V-stitch’.
The pattern is for a throw sized blanket measuring 101cm x 122cm / 39.75 x 48 inches, but the pattern can also be customised to make a smaller blanket for a baby. There is information included in the instructions on how to adapt the size of the starting chain.
It is made with double knit weight yarn and a 4 mm hook.
If making the full sized blanket, and following the same colour sequence, you will need x3 balls of the main/neutral colour yarn, plus one ball of each of the 8 colours.
My blanket was made using Paintbox Simply DK, but another suitable alternative would be Stylecraft Special DK.
The pattern includes some handy step by step photos.
