Striated Cowl
This design was an experiment to see how the beautiful colors in the Viva Merino would unwind, and I was really pleased with the result. The colors in this worsted weight unfold in interesting layers, and the stitch pattern creates an interesting texture, especially when paired with a DK weight that helps boost the contrast. My next version will use a dark DK yarn to help intensify the colors of the Viva…. Of course, a solid or more subtle variegated yarn could be used for the Viva, and the stitch pattern will create an interesting contrast on its own. This is a quick and easy pattern, using one skein of each yarn, and is ideal to add to your own wardrobe or make as a gift.
