This cowl fits cosily into the neck of your coat or could be worn over a jumper for extra warmth. It’s not always easy to find crochet designs suitable for gifts for men, but I think the simplicity of this cowl makes it a perfect gift for both men and women alike. A combination of trebles, double trebles and chain stitches are used to create a subtle striped texture design - a simple but effective design that works up quickly. Worked in the round, there is minimal finishing off to do at the end – always a bonus!

It can be made using just one skein of beautifully soft Bluefaced Leicester yarn in a natural colourway, or alternatively, if you fancy more of a pop of colour, you could use a variegated yarn for extra interest, or make a stripy cowl using up oddments of yarn from
your stash.
