Named after our favorite ranger, Aragorn, this hood acts as a cozy addition to any winter fit. Layering a hoodie isn’t always a reasonable option, but having a detachable, neck-hugging garment is a great alternative. This hood acts as both a scarf and hat and provides warmth on even the windiest winter days. The stretchy ribbed neckline fits comfortably under sweaters and coats and a drawstring allows the wearer to cinch the opening for even more protection from the cold.

  • One Size
  • Uses approx. 300 yards worsted weight yarn
  • 18 st x 20 rows = 4” x 4” in stockinette stitch

This project is worked bottom-up, first in the round then straight across. The crown of the hood is attached using Kitchener stitch. Stitches are picked up around the front of the hood, knit, and folded to create a channel for an I-cord drawstring to run through.
