PATTERN IN BOTH ENGLISH AND NORWEGIAN

Knitosaurus is knitted with Sandnes Garn Kos, and comes in two sizes. If you knit Knitosaurus with double thread on needle size US 8 (UK 6) you will get a chunky and larger teddy, whereas if you knit with single thread kos on needle size US 3 (UK 11) you will get a smaller version that works well with play.  

This is a pattern that can be combined with many other yarn alternatives, and you can easily change the original yarn with a yarn that has about the same gauge. The good thing about knitting teddies is that the gauge doesn’t necessarily matter. The most important thing is that the stitches are tight enough, so the fill doesn’t fall out. Try with the scrap yarn you have left over from other projects!

I recommend knitting with the technique «Magic Loop» as the pattern is adapted to this method.

Yarn alternatives:
30-35 g (15-20 g) Sandnes Garn Kos OR Drops Air OR Knitting For Olive Double Soft Merino. You can choose if you wish to knit the spikes with a contrast color.

Equipment:
Long circular needle size US 8 - UK 6 (US 3 – UK 11). Thin black yarn and scrap yarn or cotton wool to fill the teddy with.

Hei og så gøy at du vil strikke Strikkosaurus.
Strikkosaurus strikkes i Sandnes Garn Kos, og
kommer i to størrelser. Strikker du
Strikkosaurus med dobbel tråd på pinne 5 får
du en chunky og stor bamse, og strikker du
med enkel tråd kos på pinne 3 får du en liten
utgave som egner seg godt til lek.
Dette er en oppskrift som kan kombineres
med en rekke garnalternativer, og man kan
fint bytte ut originalgarnet med andre garn
med ca lik strikkefasthet. Det fine med å
strikke bamser er at strikkefasthet ikke
nødvendigvis har så mye å si. Det viktigste er
at maskene blir tette nok slik at vattet
bamsen skal fylles med ikke tyter ut. Så prøv
deg frem med det du har av rester!
Jeg anbefaler å strikke med teknikken «Magic
Loop» da oppskriften er tilpasset nettopp
