String Section
These lovely intricate socks reminded me so much of a stringed instrument, with its curving lines and raised ribbing, I couldn’t help naming them String Section. Both socks are identical and worked from the cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset construction. The bobbles are only worked on the leg of the sock and not the foot for comfort. If you would like to omit the bobbles all together just follow the foot chart for the entire sock.
Needles: US 1 (2.25mm) or size needed to obtain gauge. I use magic loop or the 2 circular needle method for my socks but feel free to use dpns if you prefer.
Notions: Tapestry needle, cable needle, stitch markers.
Gauge: 8.5 sts and 12.5 rows per 1 inch (2.5cm) in stockinette stitch.
Measurements: 7.5 inches (19cm) around. Cuff length: 1.75 inches (4.4cm). Leg length: 5 inches (12.7cm). Heel depth: 2 inches (5cm). Foot length: To be determined by you.
